Newsflash – Lanzarote is to the south of Ireland. Not even southeast – due south! So why take off and turn north to get there?

By adopting the proposal explained in Motorway in the Sky we could stop the big loop to the north by having southern destinations served from the south runway, while transatlantic and eastern destinations, including Northern Europe go off the north runway. This would also allow 50% more departures per hour with fewer residents overflown.
